Mathias Max Herrmann, geboren in Mülheim/Ruhr, ist Filmemacher und Schauspieler, zuletzt im Ensemble des Schauspiel Hannover. Er entwickelt zudem eigene Formate im Bereich Theater, Film und Performance, vor allem mit der von ihm gegründeten Gerd Schneider Gesellschaft.

Mathias Max Herrmann is a filmmaker and actor. He is the founder of the „Gerd Schneider Gesellschaft“, a label for semi-documentary exhibitions and theater performances. He is also co-founder of the private theater „Theater im Ballsaal Bonn“ and initiated numerous crossover productions in the fields of theater, film, performance and installation – among others in Berlin (in the Neue Nationalgalerie and in the Staatsbank Berlin), Frankfurt/Main (Künstlerhaus Mousonturm), Oberhausen, Hanover. In addition to realizing films and film installations, he also works as an actor for film and theater. From 2009 to 2022 he was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Hannover. He is currently working on a new feature film project about the German autobahn, its historical context and its impact on today’s mobility.
